Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades will hold talks with Greek Prime Minister (PM) Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens next Tuesday.

This comes in the wake of international outcry and condemnation by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) of Turkey’s intention to partially open Varosha town, which is located in the Turkish Cypriot-controlled northern Cyprus, Greek newspaper Kathrini reported on Sunday.

A tripartite summit between Greece, Cyprus, and Jordan is also scheduled to be hosted in Athens on Wednesday, and the Greek PM will hold a special meeting on the same day with Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

It is worth mentioning that, Egypt is deeply concerned over the situation in Varosha, Cyprus, after attempts to open it partially, a matter that violates the UN Security Council-related resolutions.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry called for abiding by the UNSC resolutions on this issue and avoiding any unilateral actions that escalate the situation and make it more complicated.
