Minister of Finance Mohamed Mait presented a report on financial performance for the period from July 2020/21 during a cabinet meeting, headed by PM Mustafa Madboly.
The Minister of Finance pointed out that the budget indicators for the period from July 2020/21, achieved a preliminary surplus of LE 25.3 billion, despite the negative repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic on economic activity.
It was sought to provide funding to support the most affected sectors and categories, as well as to meet all the needs of the pandemic to counter, as well as to increase government investments and provide the needs of budget and insurance fund receivables and pensions.
Maait explained that the annual revenue growth rate increased by about 14.6% during the period from July 2020/21, although the negative corona pandemic continues on economic activity.
He continued: While the annual growth rate of 11.3% in light of the high payments of government investment increased significantly to expedite the implementation of many national projects and contributes to improving the country’s infrastructure, and sufficient provisions were provided for support and social protection programs and to increase spending on segment health and education.
